Overview

I designed and built this site from scratch using NextJS, StyleX, and TypeScript. All interactive elements, animated with CSS, are custom-made. While it might seem over-engineered, that's the point. This site showcases my minimalist aesthetic and serves as a mechanism to stay up to date on the latest frontend technologies and techniques.

System

Colors

This straightforward monochromatic color scheme utilizes the system's light and dark mode settings, offering a palette that consists of light and dark shades. In light mode, the base is set at 200, providing an option for a lighter accent and four darker shades for contrast. Conversely, in dark mode, the base is set at 500, with the scale inverted to maintain consistent shading across both modes. While colors can be employed in any mode, the palette is intuitively designed to optimize visual experience in respective modes.

Typography

Using system fonts, this site is designed to be simple and lightweight. I put together a modest typescale, but generally lean on whitespace and weight to create hierarchy.
